Servicing of medical gas installations
Authorised servicing of supply systems and pipeline systems throughout Poland. A periodic inspection does not end with a report — the report is what a costed schedule of works for the years ahead is built from. The helpline operates around the clock, and we keep critical parts in stock.
Authorised INMED S.A. service
Medpipe is listed among the manufacturer’s authorised service providers under number INMED/AUTH/0004, with coverage across the whole of Poland. The authorisation covers medical gas pipeline systems, medical gas supply systems and ceiling and wall-mounted medical supply units.
This matters in practice, because servicing a medical device is not a legally neutral activity. The scope of the authorisation says what a contractor may touch in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions — but on its own it does not open the door. Authorisation to work on a particular installation is decided by the Authorised Person appointed on the hospital side.
We are a distributor and authorised service provider for air supply systems, vacuum supply systems and oxygen concentrators covered by conformity assessment — manufactured by INMED S.A. and by Portugal’s Ultra Controlo. For certified supply systems we also supply components and sub-assemblies: air compressors, dryers and control systems.
The list of authorised service providers is maintained by the manufacturer: authorised INMED S.A. service providers We describe who may touch the pipeline and where qualifications come from in the article: medical gas qualifications.
Scope of the authorisation
Two options for ongoing service
The difference is not the number of visits, but where the dates come from
Periodic inspection
A check of the device’s main components, concluded with a report. As a rule it does not involve replacing anything — its task is to establish the actual condition.
On the basis of the report, a precise costed schedule of works is drawn up for the years ahead: when and what has to be replaced, how much it will cost and in which budget year.
Inspection with monitoring
The same, plus continuous supervision of the source by TardisBOX: the quality of the gas produced and the consumption of spare parts.
The schedule then stops relying solely on the calendar, because data on the device’s actual operation arrives continuously rather than once a year.
The schedule does not come from the calendar
The dates of subsequent service activities and consumable replacements are set by three things at once: the device’s running time counted in operating hours, the conditions in which it was installed, and the manufacturer’s instructions for that particular type.
The first two cannot be read off a table — they are supplied by the periodic inspection. That is why it is the starting point for the whole service, not a formality that closes the year.
The consequence is that two identical supply systems in two hospitals will have different schedules. A compressor plant operating in a dusty plant room will consume cartridges faster than the same machine in a clean, cooled room.
How an inspection differs from maintenance, repair and modernisation — and what of that goes into the documentation: inspection, maintenance, repair or modernisation.
What goes into the schedule

Parts in stock
We keep critical parts in the warehouse, and for medical devices for up to ten years after production of the device has ended.
Billing options
A flat fee or payment per activity performed — we adapt the arrangement to what the facility requires.
Frequently asked questions about installation servicing
How does a periodic inspection differ from servicing?
An inspection checks the device’s components and ends with a report — as a rule without replacing anything. Servicing is the activities arising from that report: replacement of consumables, repairs and adjustments. The inspection determines what has to be done and when.
Does servicing a medical gas installation require the manufacturer’s authorisation?
Medpipe is listed among INMED S.A.’s authorised service providers under number INMED/AUTH/0004, with coverage across the whole of Poland. The authorisation does not, however, replace consent on the hospital side: authorisation to work on the installation is decided by the designated Authorised Person.
How quickly does the service team arrive?
The helpline operates around the clock, seven days a week. Service points in Warsaw, Wrocław, Kraków, Rzeszów, Gdańsk and Poznań make it possible to reach any city in Poland, and critical parts are waiting in the warehouse — the repair time is not extended by waiting for a delivery.
What about parts for older devices?
Because medical gas supply systems are medical devices, we maintain the availability of spare parts for up to ten years after production of the device has ended.
Does a service contract replace the Operational Management Documentation?
No. Servicing can be outsourced, responsibility for operation cannot. A service contract is part of the Operational Management Documentation, not a substitute for it.
The scope of the documentation that must be kept throughout the entire service life is described in the article: Operational Management Documentation.
Ask about service for your installation
For a conversation, the type and age of the source, the number of wards and whether the installation has a current inspection are enough. We provide servicing throughout Poland.
